Daily Prompt: Shape Up or Ship Out

Write a letter to the personality trait you like least, convincing it to shape up or ship out. Be as threatening, theatrical, or thoroughly charming as is necessary to get the job done.

Dear Procrastination,
It is time for us to talk. You know you lead me deeper into depression, by telling me I’m not good enough, nobody likes my writing, nobody loves me, and on down the track to what am I living for?
My optimistic side tells me I am good enough, but you are going to have to shape up or ship out. Do you think you can do that? Do you think you can stop whispering those negative thoughts into my head? If not, I will let my optimistic side have full control. She will do all the talking and you will not have a say in anything.
I prefer a medium ground, where optimism and procrastination work together. You know I benefit from the pressure you put on me as long as I can be optimistic.
What do you say? Can we all get along and work together. We can make it. I know we can.
