New Moon in Scorpio

When the Moon’s in Scorpio, we get focused. The mood broods, deepens, and grows a sultry, investigative, introspective edge. We lose patience with inessentials and are suspicious of inauthenticity; we may deal with primordial feelings, and need boundaries respected. It’s time to prune, water, dig, investigate, and contemplate.

new moon

A New Moon occurs on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 12:47 PM EST.

This is an incredibly powerful New Moon because it is guided and directed by the angels. You will feel their presence in any type of ceremony or prayer that you do for the New Moon. A reminder you do not have to see the new moon or even do your spiritual work at night because the new moon occurs throughout the day and night.

This lunation stimulates a new beginning in the fixed water sign of Scorpio. It’s a time when we can focus on some of the constructive traits of the sign of the Scorpion–passionate, resourceful, focused, probing, deep, and perceptive–and consider how to positively incorporate these qualities into our lives. Scorpio New Moons are generally good for working on our self-mastery skills.

Pinpoint the things in your life that makes you feel out of control such as:

  • Addictions
  • Debts
  • Emotional Burdens.

Ask the angels to help you release and be freed from all of these emotions that have kept you prisoner.

This New Moon cycle is also an opportune one in which to explore what is missing in our lives that leads us to engage in these self-destructive behaviors. This cycle represents an opportunity to rid ourselves of the “junk” in our lives–material and spiritual. With this potent Scorpio energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives.

One of Scorpio’s lessons involves learning to dig deeper into the mysteries around us instead of always being content with status quo. Taking the time to understand others’ motives can enrich our feelings of intimacy, forgiveness, and sense of meaning. Scorpio also teaches us that dedication to one meaningful relationship or undertaking can be significantly more satisfying than spreading ourselves around. Here, “quality over quantity” applies.

This New Moon aligns with Mercury and forms a sextile with Jupiter (and widely with Pluto). It’s a potent time for new insights and a sense that we’re moving forward and growing.

The New Moon is also called the Seed Moon. It is a time of sprouting and new beginnings. The moon phases can affect our mind, body and emotions in the following ways:

  • Body- We tend to sleep less during the new moon phase and rise early. Our appetite tends to increase and we tend to experience spurts of energy.
  • Mind- This is a time we usually experience sudden insights and develop new ideas. It is a great time to be creative and participate in writing, painting or anything else that allows the mind to be inspired.
  • Emotions- During this time it is common to feel shy and experience sensitive feelings. It is a good time to stay away from crowds and to keep the focus on ourselves.

The new moon brings about a time of calmness and balance, while also bringing energy and acceptance that anything can be accomplished. Use this time to set seeds of intentions for the following moon cycle and love watching what manifests throughout the month.

It is important to pull our energy inward, to be the brightest lights we can, to show the greatest love we can. We hope the light we shine will catch others alight.

What can you do to bring about changes in your life with this New Moon?

Make a fresh start, begin a project, start a new routine. Create a ritual: set an intention, light a white/silver candle, imagine the new moving toward you in joyful, powerful ways; spend a few moments breathing in the energy of this new reality each day, making it more and more tangible. Work this for one moon cycle and re-access and energize on the next new moon if needed.

Abundance Check Ritual for the New Moon.
Abundance Check
Writing an Abundance Check is an exercise you can use to create more abundance in your life and the check is to be written within 24 hours after each New Moon. It is not necessary to put a date on the check and you DO NOT write a specific dollar amount on the check. Then put the check away in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe will take over from there.

Fill yourself with all the thoughts of change that help this world to be better in all ways.

Neptune goes Direct in Pisces:
Wednesday the 18th

Neptune:
spiritual awakening, cosmic love, all one
Neptune is the spiritual veil, our connection to our inner psychology and consciousness, leading to the experience of our soul. Psychic presence and mediumship are influenced here too.

Wednesday, November 18: It may feel easier to work solo, but we get farther if we can bring our team along. Frank and confident honesty clarifies some misperceptions as Neptune turns direct after months retrograde; some illusion or uncertainty may begin to clear up. But people can dig their heels in if opposed or if their philosophies are confronted. Watch for stalling storm systems or other odd weather, and stalling philosophies. A situation may arise where we are challenged to walk our talk; our philosophy may not feel particularly practical or comfortable to live by, but it is important to either be true to what we believe, or change our philosophy to be more authentic.

With strong Neptune energy today, we may have a hard time focusing long enough to really tackle a task. Neptune, the planet of illusion, is stationary direct this morning. Now and in the coming few weeks, many of the illusions we have been holding onto emerge, confusing situations become clearer, and our creativity soars, or at least, we are more inclined to apply our creativity in the real world. Instead of thinking of this period as a time of disillusionment, we can see it as a time of illumination — when we increasingly see the light and become clearer, sharper, and more effective in the real world. We have more faith in our own dreams and visions, in others, and in belief systems. We begin to seek inspiration from external sources. Today as the station occurs, there can be some mental fog. The Moon is in Aquarius all day, and we are attracted to the unusual, extraordinary, and unconventional. Independence, equality, and freedom are vital to feeling emotionally satisfied with this position of the Moon.

Wednesday, November 25th – Full Moon in Gemini
Lunar Rhythms: Everything that flows moves in rhythm with the Moon. She rules the water element on Earth. She pulls on the ocean’s tides, the weather, female reproductive cycles and the life fluids in plants, animals and people. She influences the underground currents in earth energy, the mood swings of mind, body, behavior and emotion. The Moon’s phases reflect her dance with Sun and Earth, her closest relatives in the sky. Together, these three heavenly bodies weave the web of light and dark into our lives.

When the Moon’s in Gemini, we need to talk it all out. The mood is funny, open-minded, nervous, versatile, restless, and good for multi-tasking, if not for concentration. Cross-pollinate, share information, edit, weed, network, just keep the heart engaged and avoid gossip.
One born under a Gemini Moon is a born communicator. She may have eclectic tastes, appreciates diversity and can help disparate people understand one another. While her fast, curious mind can synthesize and scintillate in the broad view, her challenges are to calm her nervous system and to quietly deepen her mind.
