Full Moon in Capricorn
Wednesday
July 1 — 7:19 pm PDT

It’s time to get down to it; work we avoided earlier in the week now becomes do as the Moon waxes full in industrious Capricorn. We can get easily frustrated with one another, or with our own path, if it doesn’t seem to be moving fast enough, but let’s not take this urgency out on one another– particularly midday as the Moon opposes volatile Mars. Notice and hold ground– but don’t take the bait– around arguments of authority or chain of command, or whose plans win. Find a way to shift the power dynamics to just get the work done; turn this impatience into competence, Capricorn’s gift. Tonight’s full moon full moon at 8:19 PM MDT can trigger our control issues but is a good time to make a pact to balance personal life and work life in a way that expands both.

Those Born Under a Capricorn Moon come from a long line of hard-working and competent women, who may have judged themselves more by what they do than what they are. They are capable of leadership and do not suffer fools lightly. If they learn to love themselves just sitting still, they’re more accepting of others.

Buck Moon copiaThe summer skies will light up July 2, 2015 at 02:19 UTC. The full moon in July represents what many natives call “Thunder Moon”, since July is a time when rains and downpours appear allowing Mother Nature to give her wrath to people who mistreat her. At the same time, being so merciful, she would provide support and fostering to drought and feeding her playground through surges of water.

To the Native Americans, Moons represented the skies and that is why some call it where Gods lives. The full moon in July represents what many natives call “Thunder Moon”, since July is a time when rains and downpours appear allowing Mother Nature to give her wrath to people who mistreat her. At the same time, being so merciful, she would provide support and fostering to drought and feeding her playground through surges of water.

Since July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur, the full moon of this moon is called the full Buck Moon. Another name for this month’s Moon was the Full Hay Moon.

This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems.

Take time to pray and visualize what you want during this full moon.

This is a good time to cleanse and charge your crystals under the Sun during the day and the Moon by night.

Full Moon Ritual

All our ancestors used spiritual baths or sweat lodges during the full moon.  Water is a medium that can transfer energy.  I find that using 1/2lb. of Epsom salts in the water helps to cleanse the spiritual body.  During a spiritual bath you need to slow down, take a deep breath, feel the water around you, let it wash and cleanse every part of you.  Let it carry the hurts, aches, negativity, grief, rejection etc…  Feel its strength and purity.  Feel the water surround you, comfort you.  Let it rebirth you.

Cancer

Mercury goes into Cancer Wednesday, July 8th

Midweek the Moon enters feisty Aries just as Mercury enters touchy Cancer and amps up the charge on those questions we pondered over the weekend. Our histamine levels can be higher than usual so we react allergic to pollen, nasty people, and other irritants.

Aries

July brings a more idealistic and romantic vibe as Venus in Leo conjuncts Jupiter, peaking July 1 and Mars trines Neptune July 8. People may be able to let go of old angers if they can save their pride in the process. We can use this this warm-heartedness to prepare for a difficult but opportunity-filled weeks as Mars strikes the fading Pluto-Uranus square in mid-July, and take the opportunity to repair an old crisis.
The aspects of this last week echoing in recent events have helped us reassess our situation and may clarify what we need to concentrate upon for the next few months. Rather than get depressed about this new awareness of the work ahead (though that may be easy to do), we can use it as a strategic planning incentive and feel how much support is actually available.

We’Moon
New Moon in Cancer—Wednesday July 15
Cancer
When the Moon’s in Cancer, we connect with our tender sides and process emotional backlog. In response we can either get crabbily defensive, or trust our strength and nurture ourselves and others. It’s time to water, plant, fertilize, bathe, cook, and listen to our gut instincts.
One born under a Cancer Moon naturally dances with the tides. She’s connected to the Great Mother archetype, but may mother communities as well as individuals. Her challenges are to love as an equal, not as a parent or child, and to move past safety and defensiveness into her naturally oceanic understanding.

blue-moon-and-wolf HOWLThe Blue Moon occurs on Friday, 31 July 2015, (second Full Moon in single calendar month).  Now is the time to set your intentions towards what you desire. The perfect time to plant whatever it is that you want to reapIt is a moon shrouded in mystery, magic and folklore, perhaps because it only appears once every 2.7 years. The very term “blue moon” is over 400 years old when Shakespeare first wrote the words “blue moon” to mean rare or absurd. The rarity of a full moon appearing twice in one month, or a third full moon appearing in an astronomical season with four full moons versus the normal three, must have inspired the great playwright to coin the term.

The term ‘once in a blue Moon’ means that that something is very rare. But just how rare, depends on your definition.

In astronomy, a Blue Moon is a full Moon, which doesn’t quite fit in with the months in our calendar. If the moon actually looks blue, it’s caused by a rare type of dust in the atmosphere. However, there are two completely different ways of calculating which full Moon is a Blue Moon.

Blue Moon: The Full Explanation

Two definitions

Blue Moon = The third full Moon in an astronomical season with 4 full Moons (versus the normal 3)

Blue Moon = The second full Moon in a month with two full Moons.

In modern day terminology, the name Blue Moon accounts for times when there are more full moons than is ordinary.

It is believed the name “blue” was used to replace the no-longer-understood belewe “to betray”. It would have been a “betrayer moon” because in normal years the third full moon meant the beginning of spring whereas a blue moon would have meant another month of fasting.

In some cultures, the blue moon was considered the trickster moon. The faker, not the real full moon, but a mysterious doppelganger. In other cultures the blue moon was considered fortunate, something to celebrate, and a perfect time to start a long-term goal or make plans for the future.

Occasionally you may see a moon that is colored blue. This is because of atmospheric conditions and has nothing to do with a “Blue Moon.

Among the metaphysical or spiritual community a blue moon is a powerful moon. This is usually prime time for rituals ceremonies and protection. It’s also a good time to perform ceremonies to attract a new job, healings, love, legal undertakings, money and dreams.

HEIGHTENED EMOTIONS: Right now the Moon is at its closest approach to Earth all Month. Can you feel it? Have you noticed you are picking on little things for no good reason, having very random thoughts or other people seem to be having a go at you? Be aware that we are being influenced by the cosmic weather. The SUN has also fired off M Class flares in the past 24 hours, which will hopefully miss Earth’s field in a couple of days.

Whenever the surface of the SUN is flaring our own inner environment’s rise in awareness as we slough of the old ways in favor of the new and positive for our life. So if you are a little agitated right now, let it pass without lashing out at someone or something you will later feel sadness over. Stay in your own space over the next 24 hours and contemplate the bigger picture of your life.

So if you are looking to improve your luck or to finish a long-term goal, don’t worry about the ancient superstitions! Instead, focus on this full moon as a lucky one and the beginning of a great new journey for yourself.

A blue moon is rare and if you are finding yourself at a crossroads in life, now would be the perfect time to get spiritual advice to help you on your path. Visit my website to find out more about my special services.
