Full Worm Moon – March 5, 2015

March 05, 2015 the smallest full moon of the year occurs. It is often called the micro-moon or mini-moon.

As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworms appear, heralding the return of the robins.

This March full moon – smallest full moon of 2015 – lies about 50,000 kilometers (30,000 miles) farther away from Earth than will the year’s closest full moon – the full supermoon of September 28, the Northern Hemisphere’s Harvest Moon.

The full moon on Thursday March 05, 2015 at 1:05 PM has many different names due to its signifying changing from winter to spring. Winter is retreating and spring time is on its way! It’s Time to Set Yourself Free from the Restraints of Winter and Swim to the Moon!

Of course, the truest mark of spring doesn’t happen until next March 20, 2015. That’s the vernal equinox, the actual first day of the season. The east coast of the United States officially switches over around 1 p.m. The days will grow longer and warmer.

This full moon is also known as the Crow Moon or Magpie Moon. The Native American full moon names for March are largely based on these being considered the last full moons of winter; the crow caws its farewell to the season. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation.

To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.

In Celtic tradition it is called Chaste Moon and Moon of Winds.

In Native American Medicine the Crow represents: Justice, shape shifting, change, creativity, spiritual strength, energy, community sharing, and balance.

The Flower associated with March is the Shamrock:

The Flower associated with March is the Shamrock:

The Shamrock (also referred to as clover) can rock our worlds with symbolic insight. They are remarkable survivors and can endure seemingly insurmountable challenges in their stubborn determination to live and thrive. Through droughts, substandard soil and ravenous goat appetites, the shamrock is a champion survivor. This is the spirit of Mars coming through – fierce will. And, the Shamrock is a common symbol of St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) – an icon of the “fighting Irish.”

March’s Full Worm Moon

The Full Worm Moon signifies the warming earth. Warming brings more activity from the worms, followed shortly by the return of the robins. This is a time for new beginnings and exploring new territory. Remember your plans for the future and prepare yourself for making them a reality.

Astrological Influences
Energy Shifts March 2015

March will be a challenging month. Watch out for aggression and power play on the 11th when Mars and Uranus form a conjunction. The last of 12 hit-offs of Uranus (in Aries) square Pluto (in Capricorn) will occur on March 17th bringing to an end a 3 year period of radical and bewildering political reform and exposure on a global level.

The combination of compulsive Aries and unpredictable Uranus have brought about unexpected changes, which Pluto has broken down in order to make room for the new. An eclipse in Pisces on the 20th signals new spiritual beginnings and brings fresh ideas and situations into your life.

Saturn finally moves out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius giving us the opportunity to expand our horizons and create some global structure. On a personal level be careful of accidents and violence. The culmination of the work of the gods is marked with a trine between Jupiter, Mars and Uranus bringing the opportunity for achievement and fulfilment.

Virgo 1

Full Moon in Virgo

The full moon in Virgo occurs on the 5th of March. It happens to be apogee, which in astrological term meaning it is at its farthest point in its orbit from the earth, making it the smallest full moon of the year.

Venus, Uranus, South Node and Mars are all in Aries, so you may experience a sudden encounter with somebody from a past life that you feel a very strong attraction for. This is a rare opportunity to clear some old karma or to find your true soul-mate. Don’t miss this one. It may not come again for a while, so keep those antennae tuned!

The energy of Virgo is practical, analytical and loves to be of service. It may make you feel rather cool and aloof and find it difficult to receive affection and your self-worth could be a little fragile. Don’t let it fool you. Be gentle during this time as your attitude may come across as critical and even a perfectionist.

The balance between the Pisces Sun opposing this Virgo moon is all about satisfying both your need to be an individual and your need for caring relationships and a sense of belonging. Try not to send out mixed messages.

Moon squares Saturn causing us to look for approval and acceptance from others as we are very sensitive to criticism and easily feel left out or neglected. Let the moon draw you in to your inner mystical side to gain inner security and strength. It is a good time to develop your own interests and to nourish yourself, to develop your intuition and to connect with your inner muse. Neptune conjuncts the Sun lending a rather dreamy quality and making it a great time for magic of any kind.

Your imagination and visualization abilities will be strong. You will be very sensitive to music and can use it to bring yourself into emotional balance and harmony.
If you are looking for love, write your list and send it out there. This is the moon to do it. © Jyoti Eagles

We’Moon

Lunar News – Full Moon in Virgo – Thursday

When the moon’s in Virgo, our mind and attitude sharpens, our work calls. The mood is thoughtful, sensitive, health oriented, compassionate and particular; we understand how details create the whole.

Harbringer

What’s astounding is the five minutes worth

of trailing flocks of snow geese that pass overhead

weaving black and white lines

of distant honking

to the northeast.

I’m looking up for guidance, for reassurance,

they are following ancient patterns

they see through our map of upsets,

connecting to what is good,

what is right, what is natural and

they know what to do,

they are hauling spring in behind them.

Sagittarius

When the moon’s in Sagittarius, we grow restless. The mood is exploratory, honest, tactless, foot-loose, outdoorsy, philosophical, playful, international, freedom loving, and optimistic. It’s time to drop the attitude and be real, to get moving and connect with the natural world.

Spring Equinox

Sun in Aries – New Moon in Pisces

Friday, March 20

Equinox arrives, Day and Night, Light and Dark, in Balance. Girls and Fairies Dance in the fair winds, the fresh sunlight, the high moon. Now is a good time to believe in Fairies and to acknowledge all tiny trickles: desires, wishes, imaginings, beliefs, seeds of ideas…

We must – Actively protect habitat, right near us and all around Mother Earth!

We must – Actively support girls, right here and all around Mother Earth!

That should keep us buzzing! Blessed wee ones. Blessed bees. Blessed we. Blessed be.

Astrology And Spiritual Meaning New Moon March 2015

Get ready everyone! Friday, March 20th is not only a super new moon but it is also a solar eclipse at 29 degrees Pisces. This energy is extremely powerful – more so in the northern hemisphere than the southern – and an auspicious time for starting over and manifesting new beginnings.

It is one of the more potent new moons of the year as it falls at the end of the zodiac year (in the constellation Pegasus), and at the culmination of the challenging power play between Pluto, Uranus and Saturn since 2012. As mars is in late degrees Pisces, there could be accidents or incidents to do with water so be careful not to take any risks around water ! The last time the new moon in Pisces was in this constellation Pegasus the titanic sank!

There could be some impetuous storms, floods, sudden or violent shipwrecks or plane crashes or struggles between people in positions of power! Take advantage of this visionary new moon and write a list if all those habits and or people who no longer serve you and ritualistically burn them. Let go and make space for something wonderful to take it’s place as this new moon could be the start of something big ! © Jyoti Eagles

Spring Equinox, New Moon, March 20, 2015

Spring Equinox copia

March is an extremely busy month astrologically.  It is the spring equinox, a new moon, and an eclipse all on March 20, 2015. It occurs when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor toward the Sun, and, astrologically, when the Sun reaches 0° Aries. Its name is derived from Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), as night and day are about equal length at this Spring midpoint. Other names for the Spring Equinox are Alban Eilir, Gwyl Canol Gwenwynol, Lady Day, Meán Earrach, and Ostara.

The moon turns new only 14 hours after reaching lunar perigee – moon’s closest point to Earth in its orbit. Thus this moon is a supermoon – at the new phase – not visible in our sky, but having a larger-than-average effect on Earth’s oceans. Plus this new supermoon swings right in front of the equinox sun on March 20, so that the moon’s shadow falls on parts of Earth.

The feel-good factor about this day, however, is that the first official astrological day of spring hints that high temperatures are not far off. This will be good news for many, who will have a much-awaited relief from the spate of cold blasts seen in the recent weeks.

It’s important to remember that the dawning of spring has been observed for a long time in many other cultures as well. Traditions vary widely from one country to the next.  March 20 also welcomes Ostara which is celebrated in spring season as a way to honor the richness and wealth that Mother Nature has brought to humans and creatures. Spring is considered as the period of growth, happiness and love. In this time of a year, everything is woken up from winter and they are full of vitality.

Ostara magic

As the winter ends traditionally Native American people celebrate their thanks with prayers for surviving the bitter, cold days and the struggles they had to overcome. With spring everyone begins to enjoy the bounties of the earth once more, as plants and animals show new life again. The land turns green, wildlife flourishes and people are filled with anticipation for the coming of summer, the time of harvest.

419587_593218290704978_1394769662_n“Behold, my friends, the spring is come; the earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun, and we shall soon see the results of their love!” — Sitting Bull

Springtime is a wonderful season to celebrate with much merriment and shared feasts, as families gather together, dancing and enjoying the gifts of the land. Just as those in ancient times find a reason to give thanks for being here another day. Do something special to honor the fact that you are still here. Celebrations and rituals are important in our spiritual walk.

It is a time to offer thanks in prayers to the Great Creator who is watching and filling those that celebrate with blessings.

Many Blessings,
Cherokee Billie

Today’s Goddess March 19 2015

image

Today’s Goddess: Anaitis
Sacaea (Babylon)

Themes: Spring; Relationships; Equality; Fertility; Sexuality
Symbols: Green Branches; Water

About Anaitis: This Babylonian Goddess of Fertility embraces the attributes of fruitful, warm waters that flow from the celestial realms into our lives, especially as the earth is renewed. Her name translates as “humid immaculate one,” and art shows her as a strong maiden who creates life and pours out blessings. During the height of Babylonian civilization, she was also the patroness of civic prostitutes.

To Do Today: This day marked the Babylonian new year, during which time heaven and earth were considered married. Therefore, this is an excellent date to plan a wedding, handfasting, or engagement, or just to spend time with someone you hold dear. Bring them a small green branch from a tree to extend Anaitis’s love and equality into your relationship.

Traditional roles are often reversed today to emphasize fairness between people. So, if you are normally passive in your interactions, become a little more agressive. As you do, feel how Anaitis’s passion and energy flow through you.

To increase passion or sexual confidence, take a warm bath before meeting your partner. Perhaps add some lusty aromatics to the water (cinnamon, vanilla, mint or violet) to put you in the right frame of mind. Let Anaitis’s water stimulate your skin and your interest, an enjoy!
