Clary Sage Hydrosol

Salvia sclarea

Overview

Our clary sage hydrosol is gentle and calming with a pleasantly herbaceous and bittersweet floral aroma. It is reminiscent of the essential oil, but has a much softer scent that is more grassy and almost tea like. This astringent hydrosol is often used in women’s formulas and utilized as a fixative for top note essential oils. It is emotionally calming, and some consider the aroma to be very sensual.
Clary sage hydrosol is mostly made up of esters and alcohols. It has similar constituents to lavender, which are often used together in formulas. Clary sage also blends well with citrus oils and other floral notes such as rose and jasmine. Our Clary Sage Hydrosol is produced via water-steam distillation of Salvia sclarea leaf and flower. Suitable for cosmetic use

Changes

As summer changes into fall, it is time to fully embrace Mother Nature’s wonderful and colorful changes. Be flexible like the season’s and willing to change for the better. Remember, it is never too late to change your life.

I do not like change. I can do it gradually, like the changing of the season’s, but a sudden change throws me for loops that takes me a while to get over. I have learned to let aromatherapy help me with gentle change and with sudden changes. Following are some recipes that I use:

Ease Into Change (Essential Oil Recipe)

Mix the following essential oils with 1 ounce carrier oil:

11 drops Cypress for Comfort

12 Bergamot for Success

Swirl gently until all oils are thoroughly mixed.

5 Essential Oils that can help with Fibromyalgia

5 Essential Oils That Can Help With Fibromyalgia

Our brain can identify up to 10,000 different types of scent. Each scent can produce different responses in our body and activate the production of various hormones and biochemicals which can influence how we feel physically and mentally, or even how we perceive pain. Regular usage of certain essential oils is believed to help to improve fibromyalgia symptoms such as pain, fatigue, stiffness, insomnia and depression.

Here are 5 effective essential oils that can help fibromyalgia…

Helichrysum Essential Oil (Helichrysum italicum)

Helichrysum Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowers of the plant. It carries a sweet, earthy, green floral aroma. The word helichrysum is named after the golden yellow flowers of the plant, and comes from the Greek words helios meaning sun and chrysos meaning gold. The common name, immortelle, also comes from the flowers, because they are long lasting blossoms that do not wither easily.

This essential oil is helpful in coping with depression, anger and stress related to fibromyalgia. It also relieves muscle pain and helps heal the nerve tissue. Since it is calming, patients can use it to relax, relieve stress and tension and unwind. For best relief, about three drops of this oil should be massaged on the temples and other flex points.

1/8 ounce – $42.00

http://edge.affiliateshop.com/public/AIDLink?AID=138229&Redirect=/products/helichrysum-essential-oil/profile

Clary Sage Essential Oil (Salvia sclarea)

Clary Sage Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaf and flower of the plant. It has a dry, musky, bittersweet floral scent.

The sweet-smelling perfume of this essential oil gives the user great comfort and enhances his mood. So, it is very good for treating depression due to fibromyalgia. It also brings pain relief and stimulates relaxation. To use this essential oil for fibromyalgia relief, about three to five drops of this oil may be added to one teaspoon of jojoba oil or hazelnut oil and apply on the affected parts.

1/2 ounce – $23.00

http://edge.affiliateshop.com/public/AIDLink?AID=138229&Redirect=/products/clary-sage-essential-oil/profile

Chamomile, Roman Essential Oil (Arthemis nobilis or Chamaemelum nobile)

Chamomile Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowers of the herb. It contains a fresh, rich, sweet, fruity, apple-like aroma.

Sleep difficulties resulting from fibromyalgia are quickly laid to rest when one uses chamomile essential oil. This calming herb promotes deep sleep, reduces anxiety and boosts the immune system because it has inherent properties of relaxation. It induces sleep because it helps to improve Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep.

1/8 ounce – $27.25

http://edge.affiliateshop.com/public/AIDLink?AID=138229&Redirect=/products/chamomile-roman-essential-oil/profile

Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)

Lavender Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops of the herb. It carries a sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma.

This oil is generally known to improve sleep, thanks to its delicate perfume and hence can greatly benefit fibromyalgia patients. Infuse a cotton ball with three to five drops of lavender oil and place it inside your pillow case. Alternatively, combine about 15 drops of lavender oil to 1/3 cup white vinegar and one cup of water. Pour it into a spray bottle and mist the room with it. It will help the patient sleep better and also improve high blood pressure too.

1/2 ounce – $12.75

http://edge.affiliateshop.com/public/AIDLink?AID=138229&Redirect=/products/lavender-essential-oil/profile

Eucalyptus Essential Oil (Eucalyptus globulus)

Eucalyptus Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the tree. It carries a fresh, penetrating, woody, camphoraceous scent.

Some symptoms of fibromyalgia like soreness, chronic muscle pain and stiffness are linked to poor blood circulation, causing a build-up of toxins in the muscles that lead to pain and inflammation. Eucalyptus oil counters these symptoms as it is anti-inflammatory and can stimulate blood circulation by widening the blood vessels. The patient gets relief from muscular pain and fatigue. To use this oil, combine about four to five drops of it in one cup of hot water. Soak a compress pad in the liquid and apply it to the affected body parts. Repeat the process after the water cools down.

1/2 ounce – $4.00
