Magical Uses of Essential Oils, Fragrance Oils, and/or Herbs I

My Blog gets several hits a day from people searching for; What Oil Brings Love? Which Oils are good for Drawing Money? What is a Good Luck Oil?

Reminder: When working with Magic, one may use fragrance oils, the herb itself, and/or essential oils.

MAGICAL INTENT

Magical Intent is passion – manifest. When working with magic, the words and the intent that you have when you create an oil, have their own power!
*FYI – This is also true when making a healing blend.
The words you do not say, also have power. So, be sure you include all the exact things you want your oil to manifest, as well as, what you don’t want it to manifest.
Think on this for a moment and make sure you understand completely. If not, contact me at mauldinfamily1@yahoo.com or look it up on the internet.

Fragrance Oils vs Essential Oils

Many companies today offer synthetic oils at a fraction of the cost of essential oils (essential oils are the ones actually extracted from a plant). However, for magical purposes it’s best to use authentic, essential oils –these contain the magical properties of the plant, which synthetic oils do not have.
Using Essential Oils will give a boost to your work, but when working with Synthetic Fragrance Oils you can increase your intent to boost your work. Another idea is to have a piece of the plant itself available.
While many commercial vendors would have you believe that there’s some Super Secret Magical Method for blending oils, it’s actually pretty simple. First, determine your intent — whether you are creating a money oil to bring you prosperity, a love oil to boost your romantic encounters, or a ritual oil to use in ceremony.

Once you’ve determined your intent, assemble the essential oils called for in the recipes. In a clean container, add 1/4 Cup of your carrier oil — this could be one of the following:
•Safflower
•Grapeseed
•Jojoba
•Sunflower
•Almond

Use an eyedropper to add the essential oils in the recipes. Be sure to follow the recommended proportions.
To mix, don’t stir… swirl. Swish the essential oils into the base oil by swirling in a clockwise direction.
Make sure you store your oil blends in a place away from heat and moisture. Keep them in dark-colored glass bottles, and be sure to label them for use. Write the date on the label, and use within six months.
There are a number of ways you can use your oils in a ritual setting. They are often rubbed on candles for use in spellwork – this blends the powerful energies of the oil with the magical symbolism of the candle’s color and the energy of the flame itself.
Sometimes, oils are used to anoint the body. Oils applied to the body bring the wearer the energies of the oil — an Energy Oil will give you a much-needed boost, a Courage Oil will give you strength in the face of adversity.
Finally, crystals, amulets, talismans and other charms may be anointed with the magical oil of your choice. This is a great way to turn a simple mundane item into an item of magical power and energy.

  1. I have a question about. Llewellyns complete formulas of magical oils. How do you iinterperate the recipes? Is she using herbs and infusing carrier oil with them? Because if you interperate the1/8part herb. Is one drop then what’s with add 1-3drops herb oil.?

Example is fire oil with1/2 part ginger 1/2 part rosemary pertain a few drops clove a few drops. She doesnt make anything clear about when she’s using oils nd when she’s using herbs. Please help?

    1. I’m converting the recipes to standard aromatherapy versions using Essential Oils or Fragrance Oils. Using your example:
      1/8 cup of Carrier Oil
7 drops Ginger Essential or Fragrance Oil
7 drop Rosemary Essential or Fragrance Oil
2 drops Clove Essential or Fragrance Oil
      Swirl to blend.

In aromatherapy, we generally always use a carrier oil. Most Essential Oils are too strong to be put directly on the skin (neat). 1/8 cup = 2 teaspoons, We are taught to use 15 drops of essential oil per 2 teaspoons.
I try to keep it as close to 15 drops as I can. As you will see above, I used 16 drops and that’s okay. Generally, you would not want to go over 18 drops or under 12 drops.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
