2019 Year at a Glance for Leo (July 22–Aug 23)

2019 starts out with a bang for you, with a lunar eclipse in Leo—the last one for 19 years. Yet much of the year will focus on self-care and surrender. When we’re looking up at the Sun’s bright golden light, it can be easy to forget that it’s one star among billions. This year, you’re invited to be “one among many” rather than “the chosen one.” You are learning to build a better inner world, which includes tending to your health and your spiritual practice. . . .  excerpt Rhea Wolf © Mother Tongue Ink 2018 from W’M 2019 pg 119

Tuesday: Mars is our will to act, initiative and ambition. Do you need to work out? Take a stand? Get physical? Supportive Moon/Mars aspects give us strength, protectiveness, help us lift rocks, spark passion, establish clear boundaries.

Wednesday:Venus is about relationships, love, sense of beauty and empathy. Challenging Moon/Venus aspects can bring social awkwardness, hot or cold emotions, longing, questionable aesthetics. Cure: perform a random act of kindness, diplomacy, art therapy.

Mercury is all about communication, travel and thought. Challenging Moon/Mercury aspects bring a tendency to get lost in the mind and inspire glitches in all things Mercurial; we can get more edgy, irritable, anxious, scattered, diffused, glib. Cure for Moon/Mercury discomfort: Reconnect mind and heart.

Earthy Taurus is sensual, rooted, nurturing. . . We slow down, get earthy, awaken our senses, begin to build form, roots, and stubborn strength.

Thursday:Mars is our will to act, initiative and ambition. Challenging Moon/Mars aspects instigate irritability, willfulness, anger, hurry, a competitive or contrary attitude. Cure: exercise, chop wood, take a brisk walk, acknowledge desires or frustrations, and then finesse that argument. Exercise awareness.

Friday:Venus is relationship, love, sense of beauty and empathy. Do you need to be diplomatic? Nurture romance? Create? Choose supportive Moon/Venus aspects. They warm our hearts and add sociability, cuddliness, compassion, creativity and good taste.  excerpts adapted from Heather Roan Robbins‘ WM 2018 pgs 226, 15-17 & WM 2019 pg 16 unless otherwise noted

excerpt by Heather Roan Robbins—Visit our Astology Connection page for the complete daily predictions for the week and an overview of the Year for the current SunSign.

Life can be easy where we say little, do less, relax and enjoy the summer while Mercury is retrograde from July 7-31. But most of us won’t have time for that. This week the astrological winds bring in fundamental shifts along with the usual Mercury retrograde follies- mislaid tools, odd accidents, visits from old worries and wonderful friends, strange and sometimes useful delays, all sprinkled with a few sudden opportunities.

It’s a great week to rest, repair, renew, and reconnect with our heart-centered clan. Take a test on materiel we’ve studied over a long time. But Mercury, as it retrogrades back into Cancer and approaches an opposition with Pluto, brings our minds to some familiar old personal issues and political problems. Our keys and phone can easily go on a walkabout. Important papers play hide and seek. Mechanical gremlins nip at our tires. Public figures light up the twitter-verse with outrageously regrettable things. As for conversation over the dinner table, we can wax lyrical when we’re reminiscing or telling tall tales, but our minds can feel like a spongy sieve when we are trying to nail down details or make future plans. It’s not that we can’t do what needs to be done, but it will take extra effort to stay focused, and keep our path cleared of debris.
As for this weekend, play it gently; don’t read too much about the future into the present mood. Find safe and productive ways to be sensitive.  The general mood will be soft and permeable with potential emotional and physical floods while the sun, moon, Mercury, and Venus all traverse responsive water signs. Mercury reenters back into deep-feeling Cancer, the Moon enters sensitive Pisces and so we may feel less extroverted, need to tend the home and cultivate safety. The emotional arbiter Venus opposes intense Pluto and brings up our sweetness and vulnerability, and fear of loss; use that sensitivity to create, use tenderness to build relationships or become newly aware of some interior condition.
