Shadow Stalker: Falling to Pieces (Episode 14) Chapter 2 Sneak Peek
Dark Fantasy Author, Renee Scattergood
When I woke, I noticed I was back in my alcove. Kado must have been satisfied after I finally broke down and had a good cry. I had to admit, I did feel a little better. More to the point, I was so emotionally drained, I really couldn’t feel anything. I must have cried for well over an hour while he held me—even when I became angry with him and said some pretty horrible things. Suddenly I felt the urge to apologize.
I tried shifting, but I was still being anchored. I sighed as I got to my feet and walked to Kado’s office. He was sleeping. Either it was very late or really early. I didn’t want to wake him, though. He looked so peaceful and he hadn’t been getting nearly enough sleep, so I turned to leave.
“What’s on your mind, Auren,” he asked before I could walk away.
