Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus armeniaca)
Our Apricot Kernel oil is expeller pressed, and lighter in texture than the cold pressed oil. At the core of the apricot pit is the kernel, and this is what is used to produce this exquisite oil. It is very similar to sweet almond oil, but it is more suitable for sensitive and prematurely aged skin. Our expeller pressed and unrefined variety is considerably darker in color and richer in scent when compared to other oils being offered on the market.
Apricot Kernel oil is well suited for skin care products because it is a mild, moisturizing oil, and is readily absorbed into the skin without leaving a residue behind. Apricot Kernel oil makes a wonderful massage oil for babies and adults and is used extensively in aromatherapy. It is recommended for mature skin, sensitive skin and skin that is inflamed, irritated or dry. As an emollient oil, it is great for use in face and body creams, lotions, balms, lip care, hair care and soaps. Stores well under any condition but extreme heat will lessen the shelf life.
This product contains tree nuts.
Sale Price: 16 oz. – $12.75
Red Alaea Salt
Red Alaea has been the traditional salt used on the Hawaiian islands to season and preserve most of the inhabitants’ foods, and its mesmerizing color, bold flavor, and signature taste profile make it a favorite of countless chefs around the world. It has a gorgeous deep red color because this salt is created through natural evaporation when it is trapped in tidal pools and mixes with red volcanic clay. The red color itself comes from the extremely high amount of iron in the clay. The salt is said to contain 80 different naturally occurring minerals. Red Alaea salt has a mellow flavor that goes well with all kinds of dishes as well as soups and stews. It is gaining popularity as a topping for chocolate desserts and ice cream.
If you make your own bath salts, or are making bath salts as a gift, Red Alaea Salt is the perfect sea salt to use. It’s color adds a delightful view and the minerals are wonderful for the skin.
