The Juniper Tree is a small evergreen with short spiny leaves and blue/black berries. Juniper grows in North America, Northern Europe, and from Siberia to Southwest Asia. The Essential Oil is steam distilled from the blue/black berries.
Juniper Essential Oil has a fresh, pleasing, pine aroma. It is used primarily in men’s fragrances to add a woody note. Claiborne for Men contains Juniper Essential Oil.

Ancient Egyptians and Greeks used Juniper Essential Oil to combat epidemics. During the first World War, French hospitals used Juniper Essential Oil in sick wards to combat smallpox.
