Book Review

Author, Debbie Manber Kupfer does a wonderful job of pulling the reader right into the story she has written, P.A.W.S., an acronym for ‘The Partnership of Animagi, Werewolves, and Shapeshifters’. This young adult novel was written with magic and wonder. Her fantastic descriptions draw the reader into her fantasy world.

The characters in P.A.W.S. are strong and written in such a way to link the reader with empathy. I could feel the atmospheres and feelings along with each character. I felt the loving bond between Miri and her Omama; the weariness of a child left on her own at a young age; and the wonderment of Miri discovering her own powers.

All the characters have their own story, and I was caught up in each. P.A.W.S. is full of action, magic, and suspense that will leave the reader sitting on the edge of their seats. The author does a wonderful job of giving the reader exactly what is needed, without over-drawn and long descriptions.

The plot is strong and the history, which the author merges gracefully into the story line, was a big plus for me.

I highly recommend this young adult fantasy/paranormal to all who love a good fantasy story, young and old alike.

I was given a copy of P.A.W.S. in exchange for an honest review.
