Homemade Carpet Deodorizer

No need to buy expensive carpet deodorizers containing artificial fragrances and ingredients. Simply mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of cornstarch, then add 15 drops of essential oil of your choice. Sprinkle on the carpet, leave for 10-20 minutes, then vacuum. Store leftover mixture in a glass jar or airtight container.

What essential oil do you add? Following are some suggestions:

Earthy Scents for the Fall Season: Frankincense, Myrrh, Sandalwood, Vetiver

Spicy Scents for the Winter Season: Allspice, Bayberry, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Nutmeg, Orange

Fresh, Clean Scents: Bergamot, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Linen, Narcissis, Orange, Peppermint, Petitgrain, Rose, Spearmint

Get rid of household pet smells: Orange

Get rid of fleas: Eucalyptus, Lavender, Rosemary, Tea Tree

More essential oil suggestions will be posted at a later date. If you have a need before then, just let me know in the comment section.
