“Please, let me go!” tears streamed down her cheeks.
Sergeant Smith licked his lips, enjoying the scent of fear on the air. “I don’t believe I shall,” he chuckled. “It’s not every day I am served a sweet young half-blood like yourself. It is almost like the gods themselves delivered you to me.”
His laughter filled the room.
Half-blood, what in the world is he talking about? Why is he talking like I’m food or something?
“Now the question is, half-blood, which god do you belong to?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about!” she yelled.
Smith growled. His eyes glowed bright red—they were just like looking into a fire. Trisha tried to break her bonds as he lunged.
He landed on top of her chair, throwing it back onto the floor. Everything was blurry and her voice wasn’t hers anymore. She screeched like a wild animal and flung herself trying to break free. All she wanted was freedom.
