Shadow Stalker: Shadows’ Betrayal (Episode 3) – Book Review

Shadow-Stalker-Blitz Tour

Shadow Stalker: Shadows’ Betrayal (Episode 3)

The Council of Elders on the Dark Isle, the home of the shadow stalkers, have refused to allow their people to help the Coalition in the war against the Galvadi Empire. Now the Coalition is in danger of falling to their enemy. If this happens, the shadow stalkers will have no ally against the empire.

After seeing Kado’s vision and learning what she will become, Auren is terrified of leaving the Dark Isle. It seems the Council of Elders may be plotting against her, despite her willingness to remain on the island.

To escape the tensions being placed on them by the council, Kado and Auren leave their village to explore the Dark Isle, but there are worse things lurking in the islands forests than the power hungry council.

After seeing the monster she will become, Auren swears not to leave the Dark Isle. Despite that, the elders are conspiring against her. To escape their scheming, she and Kado decide to explore the Dark Isle. But worse things await them in the forests.

“The council thinks that your bond with Auren’s mother corrupted you, and that

you’re not seeing the danger that she represents,” Cathnor said.

Kado snorted. “I’m the one who is corrupt, while they presume to do everything in

their power to prevent our people from having a Foramar.”

“I know. Do you know what they are up to?”

“They want Auren incapacitated,” Kado said in a low tone and hesitated. “I believe

some of them may even want her…”

Shadow Stalker: Shadows’ Betrayal (Episode 3) Book Review

Episode 3 of author Renee Scattergood’s serialized novel, Shadow Stalker, is a must read. It delves deeper into the lives and thoughts of the main characters, gives a hint of the wrath of Selyn and the council, and the reader learns that Auren has some living relatives.

Shadow Stalker (Episode 3) is a well-written episode that leads the reader through much action and many emotions: anger, fear, forgiveness, love, and acceptance.

Kado and Auren go on a trip, leaving the village and its animosities behind for a while. As they walk along the trail, Kado teaches Auren more about the Dark Isles and the dangerous plants that live there. Kado is taking Auren to meet her uncle, aunt, and cousins, but do they make it there?

I found Shadow Stalker: Shadows’ Betrayal (Episode 3) to be a fantastic read; probably my favorite, so far.

I highly recommend Episode 3 to all fantasy and science fiction lovers.

5/5 Stars

  1. Thanks so much for the awesome review, Debra. It was my favorite episode to write! I’ll probably enjoy the next one too. It’ll be a little slower paced with a bit of a love story. 😉
