‘Tis the season for road trips — if time and money were out of the equation, what car-based adventure would you go on? (If you don’t or can’t drive, any land-based journey counts.)
I just returned home, yesterday, from my car-based adventure for this summer. My youngest daughter, her young son, and I took a three-day trip to Panama City Beach, Florida.
My grandson’s 1st birthday was on Wednesday. We thought it would be fun to spend his birthday on the beach.
The six-hour ride down went by quickly. We spent the rest of the day on the beach and watched the sunset.
Wednesday morning, we ate at The Donut Hole. The menu is almost like Cracker Barrel, except there were no souvenirs, just donuts, cheesecakes, and lime pie. The rest of our morning was spent at the pool. After a nap, we played in the sand, which my grandson loved, and took him into the ocean for a bit. He loves water.
After checking out on Thursday morning, we drove to Pineapple Willy’s for more fun, shopping, and great eating. They served the best fried oysters that I have ever eaten. I highly recommend them.
The six-hour ride back home was long and tiring, but I’m rested now and ready for the official Birthday Party this afternoon at the park.
