It is a difficult topic for many. I am the legacy of familial depression…my father committed suicide when I was 10 and his father also committed suicide when he was young. I have been in that place of despair…planning…and picturing my loved ones having a life without me. Luckily help is available. My therapist suspected an organic reason for my depression. I was one of the lucky ones that did not get offered drugs right away. For me, I found out that I had a thyroid disease. Once that was corrected….the depression left me and I’ve never had a serious one since (over 12 years depression free now!)

I do have a low functioning thyroid, but my doctors haven’t put me on anything for it. They told me to take Vitamin D and get plenty of sunshine. 🙂
