The Daily Prompt
What’s the one guilty pleasure you have that’s so good, you no longer feel guilty about it?
The one guilty pleasure that I have and no longer feel guilty about is enjoying my youngest grandson. Since his birth, about 10 months ago, I have spent more time with him than most of my grandchildren.
I was blessed to have had the pleasure of enjoying a lot of time with my two oldest granddaughters, but by the time the third one came along the older ones were into so many activities that they rarely had a Saturday for me to spend with them.
My other two grandchildren live out-of-state, and I’m only able to see them four to five times a year. I feel blessed to get that much time with them.
Back to my youngest grandson. I felt guilty, at first, that I spent so much time with him. My youngest daughter is a single mom working for a living. I have often spent several days and nights with him, while my daughter worked or when he was sick and couldn’t go to daycare. She works a lot of Saturday’s too, and sometimes they come and spend the weekend at my house.
I have been so blessed to have been able to spend so much time with him and watch him change from week to week. Each developmental milestone has been an occasion to celebrate.
