X is for EXTRA! Read All About It. Exfoliating Body Scrubs You Can Make At Home!

The English language does not give us a large vocabulary of words beginning with ‘X’. Today, I thought I would take advantage of this by giving you some ‘EXTRA’ information on ‘Exfoliating Body Scrubs You Can Make At Home’.

Let’s talk a bit about exfoliating the skin. Exfoliating helps to get rid of dead skin cells, that tend to build up on the outer layers of our skin. Exfoliating regularly, allows the skin to become soft, smooth, and subtle. Exfoliating regularly, stimulates blood circulation and can, also, help get rid of cellulite.

Following are some recipes for making an exfoliating body scrub. You will need: Brown Sugar, Goat Milk, Oatmeal, Sea Salt, and small jars with lids.

Brown Sugar and Oatmeal Exfoliating Body Scrub
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Oatmeal
1/4 cup Honey or Jojoba Oil
Mix brown sugar and oatmeal together. Cover the mixture with Honey or Jojoba Oil. Let the mixture sit awhile, until the sugar is saturated. When you are ready to exfoliate, add 3 to 5 drops of your favorite essential oil, stir well, and give yourself the luxury of a spa treatment.
Some essential oils you may wish to use in your Exfoliating Body Scrub, include: Bergamot, Lavender, Lemon, Grapefruit, Rosemary, Tea Tree, or Vanilla.
Store any left-over scrub in the refrigerator.

Oatmeal and Goat Milk Exfoliating Body Scrub
1/2 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Oatmeal
2 bags of Green Tea
1 cup of Goat Milk
1/2 cup of Jojoba Oil
3 to 5 drops of your chosen Essential Oil
Mix the baking soda, goat milk, jojoba oil, and oatmeal. Add the contents of the tea bags and to the mix, then add your chosen essential oil. You will need a large container for this recipe. This recipe will be sufficient for two uses. Store your left-over exfoliating body scrub in the fridge.

Cinnamon and Ginger Sea Salt Exfoliating Body Scrub
1 cup of Sea Salt
1/2 Tablespoon of Ground Ginger
1/2 Tablespoon of Ground Cinnamon
1 cup of Jojoba Oil
1 to 2 drops of Cinnamon or Ginger Essential Oil
Mix all ingredients. You can add a drop, or two, or cinnamon or ginger essential oil. I would not recommend that you use a different essential oil. It will clash with the cinnamon and ginger. When ready to use rub into dry areas of your body – use it before the shower or during. Store any left-over exfoliating body scrub in the refrigerator.
