D is For Deodorant, Depression, and Diuretic
Cypress Essential Oil, (Cupressus sempervirens), comes from the cones, leaves, and twigs of the Cypress tree. It is steam distilled from the plant matter, is clear with a hint of yellow, and has a pleasant Spicy, Smoky, and Woody aroma.
Cypress Essential Oil is a great deodorizer. It is good for excessive perspiration and for deodorizing sweaty feet. Try the following recipe:
Add the following Essential Oils to 1/4 ounce of your chosen Carrier Oil:
8 drops Cypress
2 drops Peppermint
5 drops Tea Tree
Swirl gently until all oils are thoroughly mixed. This blend can be used in the bath, 8 to 10 drops. Pat, 5 to 6 drops, in each underarm pit. Use, 3 to 5 drops, per foot, and massage into feet.
Lavender Essential Oil, (Lavendula officinalis), is steam distilled from the flowers of the shrub. It is clear, with a hint of yellow, and carries a fresh floral aroma.
Lavender Essential Oil is a good oil to use for depression. It has a steadying influence on the psyche, calms uncontrolled emotions, and brings a mellow peacefulness. Try the following recipe:
Add the following Essential Oils to 1/4 ounce of your chosen Carrier Oil:
8 drops Lavender
5 drops Neroli
2 drops Petitgrain
Swirl gently until all oils are thoroughly mixed. This blend can be used, (3 to 5 drops), added to water in an Aroma Lamp, Diffuser, or Oil Burner. It can also be used in the bath, (8 to 10 drops), and/or worn as a body perfume.
Celery, Grapefruit, and Juniper Essential Oils are great diuretics. Try the following recipe:
Add the following Essential Oils to 1/4 ounce of your chosen Carrier Oil:
7 drops Celery
4 drops Grapefruit
4 drops Juniper
Swirl gently until all oils are thoroughly mixed. This blend can be used in the bath, 8 to 10 drops. Use it as a body massage, concentrating on the legs and stomach area.
