Tell us about a time when you didn’t bend to peer pressure, and you swam against the stream.

This is a hard one. I, generally, bent to peer pressure. I went along with a lot, even after I was grown and married. When my first daughter was born, that pretty much ceased. I was very protective and very determined that she would not grow up as naïve as I was.
Being married to an alcoholic opened my eyes to a lot of things, mainly that I had to be the protector and provider. It wasn’t easy and I still had my weak moments, but my girls grew up believing in their selves and standing firm in their beliefs.
