Daily Prompt: Random Act of Kindness

Daily Prompt: Random Act of Kindness
by Krista on December 20, 2013

Tell us about the time when you performed a secret random act of kindness — where the recipient of your kindness never found out about your good deed. How did the deed go down?

We have a small foundation in our County, The Nettie King-Brown Foundation, that helps families in need at Christmas. The hubby and I used to adopt a whole family and provide food and gifts for them. Since, I had to resign from my job due to my health, we can no longer afford to help a whole family. Now, we purchase and give toys to the Toys for Tots program.

  1. As a collector of die-cast cars I occasionally buy a case and end up with triples (sometimes more) of each model. I have a son & grandson that collects as well so they each get one but I’m still usually left with 100 or so at the end of the year that I drop in the local Toy Box. I’ll pick up one of the current trendy toys for girls and an under two-type for the babies. It doesn’t cost much and just knowing that a kid maybe had a bit better Christmas makes me feel a bit more ‘Christmassy’.
