Who is your favourite character of all time?
~~~~~~~~
It’s so hard to name just one favourite character. I have read a lot of books, watched a lot of movies, and seen a few plays. Over the years, I have accrued several favourite characters. But, I will stay with the character I did my Daily Prompt on.
Earth’s Children Book Series
I am a big fan of Jean M. Auel’s “Earth’s Children” book series. The series includes: “The Clan of the Cave Bear”, “The Valley of Horses”, “The Mammoth Hunters”, “The Plains of Passage”, “The Shelters of Stone”, and “The Land of Painted Caves”.
The main character in the series is Ayla. An earthquake destroys Ayla’s family’s camp, leaving 5-year-old Ayla, (a Cro-Magnon girl), orphaned and homeless. Ayla has a strong sense of survival, that she carries with her throughout the series.
I am amazed Ayla was able to hold on to that strong sense of survival as trials upon trials were placed before her; knowing she was different in every aspect; trying so hard to fit in and finding ridicule instead of acceptance.
She goes through so much, yet still comes out stronger to the end. Yes, Ayla is my favorite character of all time.
    1. I started to use her, but I figured she was too obvious and everyone else would probably use her. I like strong woman characters that can come out on the other side a little stronger. 🙂
  1. I am not following the prompts, so will just comment here…Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I stand by that! Some will think that means I am a slave to popular culture but no, I do read a lot. However, Buffy is still my favourite.
    1. I don’t watch much TV, but did manage to catch a few episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I liked her, but she is not my favorite.
      Thanks for stopping by, reading, and commenting. I appreciated it. I enjoy reading your posts. 🙂
