Today’s Aromatherapy Tip of the Day: October 10, 2013 is Handling Essential Oils.

HANDLING ESSENTIAL OILS

Empty glass bottles are available in various sizes. A 30-ml, roughly 1 ounce, bottle is a good size for Body Massage Blends. A 10-ml, two teaspoons, bottle is a good size for a face massage blend.
Use a small funnel to transfer your Carrier Oils to smaller bottles. Always label your bottles to avoid contamination and make sure your tops are secure.

Various Essential Oils have different viscosities: Some are very light, almost like water; Peppermint, Rosemary; Some are very thick, like syrup; Myrrh and Patchouli.

Citrus oils have a short life span: Grapefruit, Lemon, Orange; Once opened, they can turn cloudy as they start to deteriorate.

Check Back Tomorrow for information on Mixing Essential Oils.
