Daily Prompt: Smell You Later

Humans have very strong scent memory. Tell us about a smell that transports you.

My maternal grandmother wore Ponds cold cream on her face and neck. I loved cuddling up to her and smelling that cream. If I smell it today, I remember cuddling my with my sweet, sweet grandmother.
My paternal grandmother dips snuff. While it is not an unpleasant smell, it is a distinct smell.

  1. I’m told I was about four years old when we lived in Cromarty, Scotland. Our cottage was small with a thatched roof and whitewashed. I remember the smell of the freshly painted whitewash and roses. From the same time. We used to ride the Inverness ferry and the smell of the water combined with the diesel fumes is also a lingering memory scent. My first girlfriend’s perfume…but we shan’t go there.
