Daily Prompt: Barter System

If the world worked on a barter system, how would you fare? Would you have services to barter? Would you be successful, or would you struggle?
I think a barter system would be great. I have a few skills to barter; Aromatherapy, Family History, and Writing. I would consider myself successful, as long as I had what I needed.
