Daily Prompt: Escape!

Describe your ultimate escape plan (and tell us what you’re escaping from).

I don’t really have an escape plan or anything to escape from at the moment. My ultimate escape plan would be suicide, and yes, I’ve been there, (3 times). There is no doubt that I could go there again, but currently I’m fine.
Another escape plan that has crossed my mind when things get a bit over my head, is to go to my Aunt and Uncle’s home. They own a large farm and down behind the cow pasture is a wooded area with a stream running through it. There is a cabin by the stream. My aunt suffers from severe depression and understands that some times you just want to get away from it all. She told me, if I ever needed peace and quiet, that I could use the cabin.
Some day I may just do that.

  1. I can relate to this. Although doing well now, I too have been to those dark places of escape. One of my refuges was to go to my uncle’s (who was a late stage alcoholic) because I knew there was no judgment, and sometimes it is only the other “broken” people who understand us completely. He passed away and I often drive by his place just out of needing that place to escape to. Now I sometimes visit his gravesite which is peaceful and serves to fill that need to escape.

    1. I agree. Nobody really understands unless they have been there. My oldest daughter doesn’t have much to do with me. She says it’s all in my head and I can change it. I have changed a good bit, I think, but it is always there lurking, just waiting for an event to set it off. HUGS

  2. Escape plans are always helpful to make your mind reach something peaceful! But escape plans need not always be lonely 🙂 And even if one does not have people one can have books, internet or something artistic to do! Take Care! 🙂

  3. A brave and honest post. The fact that you are still here and writing is a testament to your strength. If the big S rears it’s head again head for the cabin. 😉
