Daily Prompt: Karma Chameleon

Reincarnation: do you believe in it?

As I have stated before, I am very eclectic in all ways. I am not a religious person, I’m a spiritual person. I believe that God is Love and that he created all for Love. In a sense, I guess you could say Love is my religion.

My maternal grandfather was a Primitive Baptist Preacher. He practically raised me because my dad was always off doing other stuff. He always taught me that we are each a soul and when we became all one soul we would be one with God. By this he meant that we each had to understand that we were all one, created by God, and that we should learn to love one another as we love God. That has always stuck with me. He did not believe in reincarnation. He believed in once saved, always saved and that none of us would go to heaven until the resurrection.

In my late teens and into my twenties, my naturally questioning mind, started to really think about some of my earlier beliefs. I talked with my grandfather about the questions I had, read my bible, and prayed a lot. My grandfather told me that since we are separate souls, one soul may feel that something is right for them and another soul may feel that the same thing was wrong for them. He told me this was Gad talking to each of us and if we had that feeling that something was wrong for us, we were to turn immediately away from it. I have later thought on this and think it was his way of saying that we all had our own paths to travel.

In my early to mid-thirties, we had a pastor come to our church. He preached hatred and prejudice against all who did not believe as he did. His preaching tore me, and my oldest daughter, up severely. We were being told that everything we had believed was a lie and his way was the only way. Well, to me, he had just called my grandfather a liar.

That led me to search other religions, read about them, study them and after several years, I was able to take something from each that made sense to me and all that I had believed in. So, I just call myself eclectic.

My grandfather passed away in November of 1998. I had talked to him about all I was reading and studying, and about how my beliefs were changing. He understood and gave me his blessing before he died.

I want go into all my beliefs, but to answer the question; Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. I believe each soul is sent back again and again until they learn all that God wants them to learn.

So there you have it; a little bit of me poured out into writing.

  1. If God is Love (and I believe God is), then those who don’t speak His language (the language of Love) really don’t have the right to speak on his behalf – (according to Paul, they’re clanging cymbals – they just make a lot of noise). Or so I believe. It seems when Jesus spoke, people often couldn’t comprehend His words either – because they (we) didn’t speak his language. I’m sorry that you encountered someone who got the interpretation wrong. Your grandfather was preaching the Truth that Jesus taught – 2 things – Love God, Love Others. Have a heart-filled day, -j

  2. The Revelation of Arès sheds light on many issues. We cannot know who is saved, it’s is of the utmost importance to do good, to love, forgive, make peace, but we only get this one lifetime.

      1. In 1974, with Jesus as the messenger, and in 1977, manifesting as a stick of light, Our Creator spoke directly to a man in Arès, France, named Michel Potay. The message is in the book “The Revelation of Arès”. It is a call for us to change, to practice love, peacemaking, forgiveness, to free ourselves from all prejudice, to develop our spiritual intelligence, the intelligence of the heart.

  3. I really hate it when pastors do that, tell people all they believe is a lie, sometimes they even give you “facts” without real explanations. I’m not so sure about reincarnation though I like God sending us back here to learn more things.
