My eyes have longed to see your beauty again.
My ears have longed to hear the music of the birds
and see them twitter around the bird feeders
one by one, flocks, then herds.
Everything has been so blurred, so obscured
by thick layers of dull, drab clouds,
Pouring rain, spitting sleet, then
came the snow leaving lawns in shrouds.
But this morning, Oh! this morning
to what do I awake? Blue skies and
yellow sunshine, birds galore,
The sun has, once again, taken a stand.
