Share Your World – 2013 Week 2

7 Jan 2013

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color would have to be blue. Dark Blue, Light Blue, Navy, Turquoise, Sky Blue, Water Blue, Any Blue…

Favorite thing to photograph? Write? Or Cook?

I’m not much of a photographer but I do enjoy capturing my grandchildren on camera, and nature scenes.

I do love to write; journaling, poetry, short stories, and am currently working on a novel.

I enjoy cooking, sometimes. I liked it much better when I wasn’t a diabetic. Now it just seems to take so long, first hunting and finding a diabetic recipe for a dish that used to be my favorite, then preparing it in a different way. It just doesn’t seem to be fun anymore. I have lost my appetite for food and lost my joy for cooking.

Name two of your best personality traits.

My two best personality traits would have to be empathy and listening.

What word or words are fun for you to say?

I have a host of these. I love to say phrases to my grandchildren that my grandparents said to me, like: “Scat Tom! Get your tail out of the gravy” when someone sneezes, “Well, John Brown” when something goes wrong, “Goodnight! Don’t let the bed bugs bite”, and many, many more. Lately I have taken to saying nursery rhymes and nonsense words to myself or to my husband to help keep depression away, such as: “Silly, silly little bug”, “The thoughts in my head go round and round”. “You’re getting on my last left nerve”, “Nanny, nanny, boo, boo”, and many other silly words and phrases.

  1. Fun getting to know a few more things about you! A blogger friend wrote something about “tomfoolery” and I picked that up and played with it for a while. Now I’ve just learned a Hungarian word, “gezstenyepure” (guess-ten-yu-pu rr) which means “chestnut.” I’m writing a post about a dessert with that name and found a site online that has recordings of words in other languages. Now I can’t stop saying it!
