Libraries
How often do you visit a library? Do you go to borrow books? Do research? Check out the multi-media center? Hang out with the friendly and knowledgeable staff? Are you there out of love or out of need?
I used to love going to the library. I visited often to borrow books and to do research. I always visited out of love and the need to fulfill my love of books. When I started working on my genealogy, I visited for research and my love of knowledge and genealogy. I suppose I could add ‘love of family’ too.
I took my daughter’s to the library too. I instilled a love of books and reading in all three of them. If they do not instill it into their children, I will.
I no longer drive, due to health problems and medications, so I don’t visit the library as often. My husband will take me when I need to go, but:
1. I have a house full of books.
2. I love Amazon, where I can purchase used books for $0.01 plus S&H.
3. I got Kindle PC through Amazon and am able to purchase books for it at a low cost, no S&H, and sometimes free.
4. I have a friend that I often trade books with.
5. I think I’ve already read all the books in my small county library.

I love libraries and books too. I am pleased that my local library has branched out into running book clubs, talks on how to use technology (ranging from eBooks to WordPress) and that attracts me and probably other non-library goers to visit it more often.
I’m belong to a couple of reading groups on Goodreads.com I enjoy discussing books.
I am a HUGE fan of libraries, taking my kids to libraries, sifting through my own bookshelves, downloading e*books and finding random books left on my doorstep.
I wanted my firstborn to love books, until the pictures disappeared. Now he prefers writing his own stories rather than reading them. I still count that as a win. LOL.
My new kids (the little ‘uns) LOVE books, well I suppose the youngest prefers eating them rather than reading them but I still count that as a win too
Congratulations on raising readers.
It’s good to have a house full of books!

Yes indeed.
I love the library and my kids do too. We reserve books, we take part in the summer programs. It’s awesome. You did well to raise your kids as readers!

Sounds like you are doing a good job too.
I love books so much that I now volunteer at my local library! I love being the first one to get my hands on an author’s new book, love to ask patrons how they liked a particular book when they return it, and I love just being in the library. It’s a small library and I am slowly working my way through the fiction room. I also have an account on Goodreads and enjoy surfing around on that web site. Happy to see you love books, too.
